After a back injury he sustained while playing football in high school, Dr. R. Ken Coleman’s father encouraged him to see a chiropractorbefore deciding to have the surgery that doctors suggested. At the time, many people were not aware of all the benefits of chiropractic care, so he had some reservations. However, he went, was evaluated, and started treatment. Dr. Coleman never had to have back surgery thanks to the chiropractor.
Dr. Coleman grew up in Jena, Louisiana, and moved to Baton Rouge in 1990 to work as a strength coach for the LSU
athletics department. While in this position, he continued his educationand competed in bodybuilding. Dr. Coleman won the overall NPC state championship in 1993 before receiving his Kinesiology Bachelor of Science from LSU in 1994, and Doctor of Chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College in 1998. In 2001, he opened Capitol City Chiropractic which he ran and managed for over two decades. He has sincerelocated his practice to Ascension Parish with a focus on “all things health and wellness” related.
